People’s Health Trust was launched eight years ago with the vision of a world without health inequalities. Since then, we have funded over 3,000 projects, helping over 550,000 people across Great Britain.
As part of our new strategy, we are committed to making the links between the social determinants of health and health inequality. We wanted to find a new way to reach our funded partners, prospective funded partners and those just as interested in health inequalities as we are and discuss the topic of health inequalities in more detail.
We are, then, delighted to announce the arrival of our Podcast! Offering monthly episodes, People’s Health Trust podcast will be exploring the cause of health inequalities, social determinants of health, the work of the Trust and much more.
Our first episode features an interview with John Hume, Chief Executive of People’s Health Trust, to mark the publication of the Marmot Review 10 Years On, which examines how health inequalities have changed since the original review in 2010, and what progress has been made on addressing the social determinants of health. John and Sophia, the Media and Communications officer for the Trust, discuss the Marmot Review, what it means for England, and the wider world today, and what learnings, and successes we can take from it.
You’ll be able to find the podcast in our monthly newsletter, or online on our website, on Spotify, or Anchor.
We really hope you enjoy the podcast, and please let us know your thoughts, or any topics you’d like to see covered on an episode by emailing us here.
